Which Suit Fits Best?

How much do you know about suits and tux's? Like most men, you probably know very little about them, how they should fit, is it better to hire or buy etc. Well, never you worry, as we have all the ins and outs of suits and tux's.

Hiring A Suit or Tux

Pros:
  • If you have a large wedding party, renting your suit is the best option to ensure everyones attire co-ordinates
  • You can shop for rental shoes and suits at one location
  • A hired suit can be altered to your specifications, meaning it should fit better and look better
  • Hiring a suit is cheaper than buying a tux or suit
Cons:
  • Picking up and dropping off hired suits is an extra task to include in the planning.

Buying a Suit or Tux

Pros:
  • Buying a suit may save you money in the long run, as you can wear it again for weddings or formal evens
  • A wider selection of suits is usually availiable for purchase
  • A tailored suit can offer flexibility when it comes to personal style
Cons:
  • Shopping for the perfect suit can be time sonsuming as it usually involves visiting multiple stores, having the suit tailored to fit, and finding the right shoes
  • A quality shuit can be expensive, so by an extra pair of trousers, as these tend to wear out before the jacket.

Seven Tips For A Perfect Tux Fit

The Collar
The collar should lay flat on the back and sides of the neck without any gaps or bulges.

The Jacket
The bottom hem of the jacket should cover the butt and the vent shouldn't pull open. (That means it's too tight.)

The Hem
Pants should break across the top of the laces.

The Shoulders
The jacket should hug the shoulders perfectly. If shoulder pads extend too far over the shoulders, the jacket is too big.

The Sleeve
The jacket sleeve should be hemmed at the wrist bone, allowing a half an inch of shirt to show past it.

The Pants
Flat-front pants are generally more sliming than their pleated counterpart - less fabric means a flatter looking midsection.

Socks
A pair of colorful socks is an unexpected way to pull in some personality without making a spectacle.
