Getting Stains Out Of Your Wedding Gown
Wedding Gown Stains don't necessarily need to be a total and utter disaster, as there are emergency removal tips which you may want to keep handy for just in case.
Water may not be the right choice for you to use to remove the stains from your gown, as it may make it worse. So, to be sure we take a look at what some of the more common emergencies you may face on your wedding day. So may not completely remove the stain from the gown, but they will definitely make them less noticeable, and almost invisible as you can with short notice.

Water Mark
As soon as you notice the water stain, be it tears or sweat take a clean towel and dry up any moisture that there may be. You definitely do not want to use a dryer, as that may actually spread the stain more than anything else. If you do have a hand steamer handy, then you could give that a run over the fabric.
A quick note: you may also want to ask your seamstress or gown designer about using an iron or steamer on your dress when you collect it from them.
Messy Makeup
You have managed to mess your makeup all over your gown, pr perhaps someone else's make up even. whatever you do , DO NOT rub it! This may actually just make it worse, and harder to get out. Use a little club soda onto the place where the stain is, followed by a little salt, then leave to dry. If there are any trace signs left on the gown, you could always use talk to cover up the last little hints of the mishap.
Blood Blotch
It would be very easy to spill blood on your fantastically white dress, and if you are frantically panicking to get the stain off as soon as possible. Wet a Q-tip with your own saliva, then gently rub it on top of the blood. The acids which are in your saliva will break down the stain.
Oil
For any oily stains, if you are fast enough, you can use a Q-tip, dip it into cornstarch or talcum powder, then generously, yet gently, apply it to the spot. Wait for about 15 minutes before dusting off with a clean cloth or towel. If the first attempt doesn't resolve the problem, you can tray again.
Remove A Ink Spot
Somehow you managed to spill ink on your gown, and now you need to rectify the situation as quickly and as easily as possible.
It may be easier than you think. Quickly apply some hair spray to a cotton swab and rub lightly over the stain. |
